Below you will find some books and other resources that I have found interesting. I don't necessary agree with everything within them, but they do make me think.
Books
I don't know how many copies of Atomic Habits I've given out over the years, but it's definitely one of my favorites. I love the practical advice and no excuse steps to build habits. His 321 Newsletter is also one of my favorites. It's an easy read with a several quotes and a question that gets you reflecting.
I find the ideas presented in this book to be simple to understand but challenging to live. McKeown provides a guide to getting clear on what really matters to you. As McKeown states in the first chapter, "If you don't prioritize your life, someone else will." I imagine this will be a book I revisit often. I have also created a course that examines this book and the idea of Less, but Better. You can read more about my plan and what prompted me in my article Autodidacticism.
Tools
I keep a Field Notes notebook in my pocket everyday. I find these little notebooks indispensable for keeping track of things I need to do or ideas that pop in my head. I use these as part of a larger system. My pocket notebook is a catch-all that I then transfer into various other notebooks and digital storage for long term storage.
I've used a lot of note taking apps, but Obsidian is the one that I've chosen to utilize. The major factors that influenced that decision were that it's available on all platforms (mobile and desktop), it stores notes in a non-proprietary format (markdown), and it connects notes together via links.
